Why It Matters
"Jama" comes from the Ga language and refers to cheer songs at social gatherings. The tradition entered Ghanaian football after Asante Kotoko won the 1970 CAF Champions League. Black Stars legend Asamoah Gyan is famous for leading jama sessions with the squad before matches. If supporters do not sing jama tunes, "being present at the stadium means nothing."
