Created by teacher Fernando Romero during the 2021 Copa América, it became the soundtrack of Argentina's Qatar 2022 World Cup victory. Fans sang it for 72 hours straight in Buenos Aires after the final. The lyrics reference Maradona watching from heaven with his parents — "Don Diego" is Maradona's father Diego Sr., and "La Tota" is his mother Dalma Salvadora Franco, so beloved that Argentine fans call her "the Mother of Soccer". It made grown men weep in the streets of Buenos Aires.
