Goalkeeper
goalkeeperThe last line of defense β the only player who can use their hands.
The goalkeeper guards the goal and organises the defense. They're the only player allowed to handle the ball, but only inside their own penalty area. Modern goalkeepers also need to be comfortable with the ball at their feet.

Center-Back

Center-backs are the heart of the defense. They mark opposing strikers, win headers, make tackles, and block shots. Modern center-backs also need to be comfortable passing out from the back.

Full-Back
defenseDefends the flank and bombs forward to create attacks.
Full-backs play on the sides of the defense. Traditionally defensive, the modern full-back is expected to overlap the winger, deliver crosses, and sprint up and down the touchline for 90 minutes. It's one of the most physically demanding positions.

Defensive Midfielder
midfieldThe shield in front of the defense β breaks up attacks and controls tempo.
The defensive midfielder sits between the midfield and defense, acting as a "destroyer" who breaks up opposition attacks. They read the game, intercept passes, and recycle possession. Often the most underrated position β when they play well, nobody notices.

Central Midfielder

Central midfielders are the link between defense and attack. The "box-to-box" midfielder covers every blade of grass, contributing to tackles at one end and goals at the other. They need to do everything β pass, shoot, tackle, and run.

Attacking Midfielder
