Mexico City is at 7,350 feet altitude and it will hit you. The first 24–48 hours: drink water constantly, skip the mezcal your first night, and don't do anything strenuous. By match day you'll feel fine. No private vehicles near Azteca on match days — take the Metro. Only drink bottled water. You are going to walk past Estadio Azteca and feel something deeply emotional even if you're not a Mexico fan — this is the most storied stadium in World Cup history.

Take Metro to Tasqueña then RTP shuttle — or Metrobús. No private vehicles near stadium. Walk 10 mins from stadium for a better Uber price. Traffic around Azteca post-match is legendary.
